Life riding a board:

Jason Slezak began his life riding boards at the young age of 5 when his older cousin taught him to skateboard. Instantly from that moment, the passion of riding a board became an integral part in his life, and has been a driving force behind the path he has taken for the past 25 years.

At the age of ten, Jason discovered the emerging sport of snowboarding, which for many years took over the primary focus of his life and led him into the action sports industry, coaching, competing, working retail and eventually landing a rep position with Rossignol Snowboards.

In the summer of 1999, Jason moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to surf while in between semesters of school, and stumbled upon the sport of kiteboarding- still in it’s infancy. Realizing that riding a board behind a kite allowed him the same feelings and ability to do the same tricks as snowboarding, surfing and skating, Jason quickly excelled at kiteboarding and became a pioneer and personality in the kiteboard industry.

For the past 9 years Jason has worked as a professional team rider and ambassador for the sport of kiteboarding, developing new tricks and style, working with major equipment manufacturers doing R & D and helping to develop and build what has become the model for kiteboarding schools and retailers in the world.
